I went on to work in retail sales for over five years while earning an Ontario College Advanced Diploma in advertising, marketing and communications management. My time in sales taught me the importance of building good client relationships, and I learned very fast that in order to do that, I needed to take the time to truly understand my customer. I carried this knowledge with me as I started my journey in the marketing industry. 

I’ve held positions at startups and small businesses, which meant I wasn’t just in charge of one marketing role, I had to work in all of them. My career has been built in fast paced environments, and these experiences are the reason why I approach every project with a fully integrated mindset. I’ve built strategies, and executed them from end-to-end, and I’ve had to problem-solve and pivot when I’ve encountered road blocks or bottlenecks. I have gained experience in event planning, photography, videography, graphic design, social media content creation, copywriting and marketing strategy. 

Now, here I am today. A business owner who has built something not just out of necessity, but out of passion. I have blended my love for design, strategy and storytelling into Maddie Kay Consulting. When I started this business, I remember being told to just pick one thing. Be the strategist. Be the creative. Be the photographer. Be the event planner. But the truth is, I’ve never worked that way. And I know my clients will benefit from a more well-rounded service offering from one place, as opposed to hiring multiple outsourced vendors for the same project. I am here to help my fellow jack-of-all-trades get things done because I know how time consuming it can be to juggle many roles at once. I present to you all of the talents I have to offer.
